The Eastern Gateway Community College Board of Trustees has named a new future interim president, as well as a new senior executive vice president on Thursday.
Dr. John R. Crooks has been named future Interim President and Arthur Daly has been named Senior Executive Vice President. These transitions will be effective at a later date yet to be determined.
Board of Trustees Chairman, James Gasior believes both Crooks and Daly to be more than fit for their tasks.
"Dr. John Crooks is a respected educator who is up to the task of heading our proud institution as we search for our next president. We also believe Arthur Daly will be a strong partner in helping Interim President Crooks as Senior Executive Vice President of Eastern Gateway. The college is in good hands," Gasior said.
Dr. Crooks has been Senior Vice President of Academic Affairs at the college since 2020. He assisted with the formation of the college's Student Government Association, the Oak Tree Literary Journal and supported many student functions.
He's also worked closely with faculty leadership in creating a Handbook for Curriculum Committee and was a member of the team that completed the recent collective bargaining agreement.
Daly joined Eastern Gateway's faculty in 2016 as the Director of Career Development overseeing both Steubenville and Youngstown's campuses.
He became Dean of the Youngstown campus in 2017 where he oversaw campus recruitment, enrollment and the overall operation of the Youngstown campus.
He then became Vice President of the Youngstown campus in 2018 and is currently a board member of the Trumbull, Mahoning and Columbiana County Workforce Development Boards and serves the youth committee and Ohio Means Jobs committee in Trumbull County.
