Festival season is in full swing and two are set to begin this week in Trumbull County communities.

The annual Mount Carmel Festival in both Girard and Niles are scheduled to begin Wednesday, July 12 and Thursday, July 13 respectively. You can find everything you need to know for both festivals below.

The Girard Mount Carmel Festival kicks off Wednesday, July 12 at 6:00 p.m. and will run through Sunday, July 16 at 33 W. Wilson Avenue. Festival hours are 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. each night and admission is absolutely free.

Attractions include live entertainment every night as well as carnival games, amusement attractions, a basket raffle, a 50/50 raffle, bingo and much more.

Live performers include Blue Collar Band on Wednesday, Common Ground on Thursday, Cin City Saints on Friday, Dead Flowers on Saturday and Girard Swingtime Band and Blue Coat Band on Sunday.

Girard Swingtime Band will play from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and Blue Coat Band will play from 8:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. 

Attraction prices are $1 per ticket or $20 for 25 tickets. Each attraction costs four to five tickets each.

Additionally, guests can purchase all-day passes at varying prices including $20 for Wednesday and Thursday, $23 for Friday and $25 for Saturday. 

There will also be a parade on Sunday, July 16 at 10:00 a.m. followed by a Mass at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Rose Church. The parade will travel from the IFH grounds on Wilson Avenue to State Street to the church.

The festival will close out Sunday with fireworks at 11:00 p.m. by the Justin Leo Memorial Bridge.

For those out in Niles, the Niles Mount Carmel Festival begins on Thursday, July 13 and will last until Sunday, July 16.

Thursday and Friday will begin with a lunch from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with the festival itself kicking off at 5:00 p.m. and going on until 10:00 p.m. The festival will be 4:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

There will be rides and games every night along with Bingo. Bingo will begin at 6:00 p.m. Thursday and Friday and 5:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Additionally, the festival will hold its annual Bocce tournament and there will be plenty of live music throughout the week. 

Live performers this year include Rex Taneri from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Thursday, Random Strangers from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. on Friday, Houseband from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Saturday and Vegas Band from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Sunday.

There will also be a cash raffle with a grand prize of $10,000. Second prize is $5,000 and third prize is $1,000. Tickets are $5 each or you can get six tickets for $25.

Additionally, there will be nightly drawings at 7:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. If your ticket is called, you will win $50. Winners must be present for the nightly drawings, but winners do not need to be present for the grand prize drawings.
