Mom, toddler return to thank Howland Firefighters for assisting childbirth
The Howland Fire Department got a surprise visit this week from a grateful mom and her toddler who came into this world with the help of a First Responder one-and-a-half years ago.
Eighteen-month-old Andilynn Juniper Pipino and her mom Lynsey stopped by the fire department’s headquarters to say, “thank you”, especially to firefighter and paramedic Shane Stelk.
It was the first time the three got together since January 10, 2022, when paramedics were summoned to the Pipino’s home during a frigid morning.
Lynsey was in labor. With the help of Stelk, Andilyn was successfully delivered and immediately began crying.
The three posed for a picture and Mom left a handwritten note with the following message:
"Thank you for your remarkable service way back on Jan 10, 2022 - helping us bring our baby girl safely into the world. Your responsiveness, care, and kindness have echoed each day since that freezing cold and wild night.
We are so thankful for all you do for this community.
The Pipino family.
