New Castle motorcyclist killed, teen injured in weekend crash
A New Castle motorcyclist died, and his teenage passenger was injured in a collision with a car in Lawrence County over the weekend.
State Police say a Nissan Rogue veered into the oncoming lane of Harlansburg Road, striking a Harley Davison coming the other way just west of Grange Hall Road Saturday night.
Travis Bintrim, 49, and his 14-year-old rider were thrown from the motorcycle. Bintrim was taken to UMPC Jameson Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The teen was flown by helicopter to Pittsburgh Children’s Hospital in stable condition.
The driver of the car, a 76-year-old New Castle woman, and her 72-year-old passenger were both taken to Jameson Hospital with injuries troopers describe as minor.
State Police are deciding if the driver of the car will be charged.
