Fire marshal investigates two-alarm blaze in Mercer County
The state fire marshal is looking for the cause of a blaze that sent fire departments from several communities to put out flames at what has been described as a large machine shed in Mercer County.
The call originally came in just after 3:30 a.m. as a garage fire on the 100 block of Shook Road in Sandy Creek Township.
The first firefighter reported that flames had spread throughout the structure and called for assistance from surrounding fire departments including Crawford County, including what's known as a Rapid Intervention Team.
As the sun came up, you could see that a three-stall metal building and a tractor inside had been destroyed by the flames. Another nearby shed was also damaged.
One firefighter was taken to a hospital to be treated for a blood pressure issue.
