A Girard man who spent time in prison for the death of his infant son was back behind bars this past weekend after his arrest on a charge of domestic violence.

Girard Police arrested 46-year-old Bobbie Craven early Sunday at his Trumbull Avenue mobile home after being called there for a disturbance.

According to the police report, an officer saw fresh bruising around Craven’s wife’s eyes, as well as blood from her nose, hands, and blood and chin.

The wife told police that the two had been arguing and her husband allegedly wrestled her to the ground. Bobbie Craven admits arguing but denies that there was any physical contact.

In 2001, Bobbie Craven was arrested on a murder charge for the death of his 20-month-old son.

Craven later was sentenced to nine months in prison after pleading guilty to involuntary manslaughter, felonious assault, and child endangering.

Craven was booked into the county jail and was scheduled for video arraignment on Monday.
