The City of Hermitage is getting a head start on the summer season by cutting the ribbon on the Buhl Park outdoor pool.

The park also unveiled its new poolside mural by the Hope Center for Arts and Technology which showcases parts of the park within the artwork.

"We looked at the space and we felt how we could fill it. We decided that we were going to work with some of the features that were in the room and kind of disguise them and create this optical illusion of a big splash coming," Hope Center representative Ashley Vaughn said.

The Buhl Park pool will open for the regular season Saturday at noon.

It will remain open seven days a week through September 4 with open swim hours from noon to 8 p.m. daily.

A family season pass is $150 for the season.
