After four years on the run, a New Castle man has been captured for his alleged part in the 2019 murder of a Sharon father of two.

According to jail records, Seon Perry was arrested two weeks ago in North Dakota.

Perry’s arrest comes two years after authorities in Mercer County charged the 32-year-old New Castle man in connection with the May 23, 2019, murder of 24-year-old Khalil Hopson in Sharon.

Hopson was shot inside his Cedar Avenue home and later died at the hospital.

Two other people have already been sentenced in connection with the crime.

Alexis Holmes of New Castle is serving an 18-to-40-year prison sentence after pleading guilty to robbery and burglary.

Eddie Robinson Jr. of Youngstown was sentenced to 15 to 45 years in prison on charges of third-degree murder, animal cruelty, and perjury.

Authorities are expected to extradite Perry to Mercer County where he faces charges of criminal homicide, robbery, conspiracy, burglary, and cruelty to animals.

During the investigation, Alexis Holmes first told police she was on the porch of Hopson's home when they were approached by three males holding guns, claiming she heard a gunshot after one of the men held her at gunpoint on the porch, while another man followed Hopson into the house.

However, a further investigation by police uncovered a phone with text messages between Holmes and Robinson that showed them allegedly discussing plans to rob Hopson of several thousands of dollars.
