Dogs might soon have a new place to play in Struthers, as a local non-profit is looking to have a dog park created at a local baseball field.

Non-profit, Struthers Unleashed is currently developing plans to establish a 50x140 foot dog park near Grimm-Nebo Park featuring areas for dogs both big and small to exercise and play.

The park would be away from the baseball field to allow local teams to still use the majority of the location.

The non-profit's mission is to enhance the City of Struthers with a community dog park where pets can enjoy the freedom of play and exercise in a safe, secure environment.

Struthers Mayor, Catherine Cercone-Miller has expressed her full support of this project.

"After all the community engagement we did with the comprehensive plan, a dog park was listed as a top priority for the city. When e launched Discover Struthers, this is the type of project we hoped the community would rally behind," Mayor Miller said.

In order to make this vision a reality, Struthers Unleased is looking for support from local businesses, organizations and individuals. If you'd like to make a contribution, you can click here to do so.
