Grand Jury indicts suspect for 2016 robbery, murder in Youngstown
The Mahoning County Grand Jury has found enough evidence to put a suspect on trial for a 2016 murder and robbery in Youngstown.
According to court records, 25-year-old D’Aundre Turner has been indicted on charges stemming from the robbery and shooting death of 22-year-old Omar Croom.
Investigators say that on March 16, 2016, Turner and co-defendant, Ranee Fitzgerald, 23, lured Croom to an address near Oak Street Extension and Early Road in Youngstown.
Fitzgerald and Turner allegedly robbed and then shot Croom, leaving him to die on the street. A warrant was issued for Turner on April 12, 2023.
On Tuesday, members of the Northern Ohio Fugitive Task Force arrested Turner near the 100 block of E. Hilton Ave after a foot chase, where Turner attempted to break into another home to evade officers..
Fitzgerald was arrested in February.
On February 14, 2023, members of the NOVFTF arrested Fitzgerald after a traffic stop on Salt Springs Road in Girard, Ohio.
