Construction for the new Meijer store in Austintown has once again been delayed.
According to Austintown Zoning Inspector, Darren Crivelli, construction for the new store was originally supposed to begin in August of 2023. However, Meijer Real Estate Manager, Crisman Jones decided he wanted to secure all permits in 2023 and start construction in April of 2024.
As it stands, Crivelli says he's told an updated traffic study had been submitted to the Mahoning County Engineer's Office and that stormwater management drawings still need to be completed.
The store is scheduled to open in May of 2025.
