Last month tenants at the Sharon Tower Apartments were forced to leave due to deplorable conditions. Some are staying with relatives, others at area hotels.

On Sunday, religious leaders came together to provide a fest for the residents.

Reverend Jennifer L Campbell was in disbelief when she stumbled across displaced residents who were forced to evacuate the Sharon Towers apartment complex due to no fault of their own, but negligence on behalf of owner Joseph Fusco.

Jennifer wanted to do something nice for these residents, some who are staying in hotels.

"I began to get an idea to come down on a Sunday, and just give them a better type of a dinner, do it in a buffet style," said Reverend Jennifer Campbell, of Breath of Life Tavern.

Campbell reached out to area pastors, caterers and chefs who all sent in signature dishes. Sharpsville residents who have been displaced since the Wade Mertz Towers there caught fire back in February, were also invited.

Campbell who used to work for the city of Sharon and Farrell at one point says she felt this was her obligation.

Former Sharon Towers resident Teresa Kirkland has been living at a nearby hotel since she was forced to pack up and leave weeks ago. Still frustrated with living on the fly, Kirkland says she's grateful for those in the community that are stepping up.

"There are people in this community who help us, you know and I love it," said Kirkland.
