Mahoning County Commissioners declare April 29 'Alice Cooper Day'
Legendary rocker, Alice Cooper is getting a whole day dedicated to him right here in the Mahoning Valley.
Mahoning County Commissioners voted unanimously on Friday to declare Saturday, April 29 2023 as "Alice Cooper Day" in anticipation of his appearance at the Covelli Centre that evening.
Alice Cooper's career has spanned over five decades with his first appearance in the Mahoning Valley dating all the way back to May of 1971 at the Struthers High School Field House.
In August of that same year, he performed at The Most Beautiful Picnic in Lake Milton, the first major outdoor concert held in the Mahoning Valley alongside other rockers such as Bob Seger, Chuck Berry and Ted Nugent.
Since then, he's played many more shows in the Mahoning Valley from the Tomorrow Club in Downtown Youngstown, to the B&B Back Stage in Boardman to the Youngstown Foundation Amphitheatre.
That's why for his latest appearance at the Covelli Centre, County Commissioners wanted to dedicate the whole day in honor of Alice Cooper.
Alice Cooper will be taking the stage at the Covelli Centre Saturday night. The show starts at 7:00 p.m.
