Ursuline Sisters Mission opens new office in Champion
The Ursuline Sisters Mission has announced on Tuesday that it has opened an office in Champion in order to provide support services for adult learners of its scholars program in Trumbull County.
The new office is located at 4602 Mahoning Avenue near Kent State University's Trumbull County campus. It will serve as a gathering place for scholars The program's coordinator, Alicia Trescott will be based at this office.
The Scholars Program provides student advocacy and support, financial assistance, mentoring and personal and professional development opportunities. The program will serve students in Trumbull, Mahoning and Ashtabula counties.
"The Scholars Program provides ongoing support to assist [adult learners] with anything that could jeopardize their ability to complete their degree," Trescott said.
Since 2018, the Scholars Program has served over 30 scholars in Trumbull County from its Mahoning and Ashtabula County offices.
Ursuline Sisters Mission Education Director, Sarah Chill says the Sisters Mission has had a near 90% success rate with Trumbull County scholars measured either by continued education in their program or graduation.
Students with a 2.0 GPA or higher who are struggling financially and are in need of additional support while enrolled in an accredited post-secondary program may qualify. To find out if you qualify, you can call Trescott at 330-744-3147 extension 119.
