Boardman restaurant owner Michael Alberini, 55, was found guilty Monday on charges he violated a court-ordered protection order.

Alberini appeared in Struthers Municipal Court Monday in Judge Dominic Leone's courtroom and pleaded no contest to violating the protection order.

Alberini was sentenced to 30 days in jail, followed by 30 days of house arrest and three years probation.

Alberini was charged with violating a court order on Oct. 19 stemming from an unlawful restraint and menacing incident from December 2021.

Struthers prosecutor's office charged Alberini with violating a protection order, a first-degree misdemeanor.

Alberini allegedly violated the terms of the protection order when, according to the complaint, he and another man showed up at the victim's home in Poland Township on Oct. 13.

According to the complaint, the victim's mother called the police to report that Alberini and another man parked Alberini's vehicle in front of the home of the victim and the victim's mother.

The report stated that the man with Alberini dropped off a check from "Michael Alberini's Restaurant, LLC" in the amount of $830 for court fees that were to be delivered to the victim's attorney.

Alberini was first arrested and charged in December 2021 by police following a domestic situation at his Squirrel Drive home

Officers were sent to his Squirrel Drive home after getting a call that Alberini had blocked his then-wife from leaving home, allegedly stating that if "anyone comes to the house, there would be a standoff." Police reported that Alberini was sitting with a semi-automatic rifle on his lap pointed toward the front door.

At the time, the victim told officers that she had barricaded herself in a room, saying she feared for her safety and the safety of her child.

Alberini originally pleaded not guilty to the charges in December of 2021, but withdrew that plea, entering a guilty plea, and was sentenced in July to community service and two years probation with a $500 fine.

Alberini was arraigned in Struthers Court Wednesday, where Alberini entered a not-guilty plea and was ordered to have no contact with the victim — a pretrial set for November 28 at 10 a.m. in Struthers Municipal Court.
