The Ohio State Highway Patrol arrested a driver after she was allegedly driving the wrong way on the interstate.
According to the release, a trooper saw a 2011 Mercedes Benz SUV traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes on Interstate 80 in Liberty Township around 12:51 a.m. Wednesday morning.
The trooper attempted a traffic stop but the SUV continued driving.
The driver, later identified as 47-year-old Rachel Benton of Poland, allegedly came close to the trooper's car, forcing them to swerve to avoid being hit.
Benton made a U-turn and began driving in the right direction on I-80 eastbound but still did not stop.
The trooper continued to chase Benton, who made another U-turn in a median crossover and continued driving westbound onto Route 11 in Mahoning County.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol set tire deflation devices on the road, popping the two front tires of the Mercedes.
Benton was arrested at the scene and taken to the Trumbull County Jail.
She faces charges of fleeing and eluding and additional charges are pending.
