Wellsville man gets more than four decades in prison for child rape
It took a jury in a Columbiana County Courtroom about an hour and a half of deliberations on Wednesday to find a Wellsville man guilty of repeatedly raping an 11-year-old child.
Following a two-and-a-half-day trial, Randolph Minor II, 48, was convicted of three counts of rape, one count of attempted rape, and one count of gross sexual imposition. All five charges are felonies.
According to the indictment, between October 2017 and February 2018, Minor engaged in sexual conduct with the child when the alleged victim was as young as 11.
Judge Megan Bickerton immediately handed down three, ten-to-life sentences to Minor, to be served one after the other.
Additional sentences of eight years for the attempted rape conviction and 16 months for the gross sexual imposition were handed out.
All combined, that means Minor won't be eligible for parole for at least 43 years, if ever.
The victim in the case is now 17 years old.
