A bridge in Mercer County built back in 1962 is undergoing construction starting Monday, April 17.

Since the bridge was built decades ago and is now considered to be in poor condition, a lot of work needs done to replace it. This includes replacing the concrete deck, painting steel and minor roadway work.

Route 18 and Main Street in Sugar Grove Township will be used as detours during the construction which is expected to last until September 2023.

The project will be paid for with $1,847,008 worth of state funds.

About 1,400 vehicles pass over the bridge everyday.
