The suspect in a fatal shooting in Youngstown is being held without bond for his alleged role in the murder of a 22-year-old male.

Eighteen-year-old Elijah May was arraigned in the Youngstown Municipal Court Friday afternoon on charges of Voluntary Manslaughter and Having Weapons While Under Disability.

The charges stem from a recent shooting incident on Youngstown's north side that resulted in the death of 22-year-old Ray'mon Sims on Tuesday, April 11.

Police say May allegedly shot Sims, who was driving near Tod Lane at the time. Eventually, Sims crashed into a house on Alameda Avenue before EMTs and police tended to his wounds on Crandall Avenue.

May is scheduled to be back in court on Thursday, April 20 for a preliminary hearing at 9:45 a.m.
