More than 100 tenants living inside the Sharon Towers in Sharon are looking at a possible shutdown of the building.

Sharon's City Manager claims the building manager, Joseph Fusco refused to allow the fire department access to the building to conduct inspections, due to several suspected fire code violations.

"In addition to the unsanitary conditions that are compounding at the moment, I think that would dictate whether the building is closed or not," said Sharon's City Manager, Bob Fiscus.

Fire department leaders say they've been unable to contact Fusco since hand delivering the initial fire code violation letter last September.

"We hand delivered a letter and explained our concerns and since then we have not been able to gain access to the building," Deputy fire chief, Nicholas Samson told 21 News.

This is forcing city leaders to pursue an administrative warrant that if granted would give them access to the building.

To make matters worse, tenants have no water because the sewer system has been shut off due to a lack of payment. Many residents are left concerned and anxious.

Some tenants living at the apartment building are planning to move to nearby complexes or move in with family members.

Anna Martin lives at the apartment building, she says she does not have family nearby and is unsure where she will live if the building is shut down.

"I just don't know what I'm going to do. I don't know which way to turn," Martin said.

The city has provided a list of housing and food resources in Mercer County for the tenants.

Fusco reached out to 21 News late Wednesday afternoon blaming the city and while he admits he's behind on his sewer bill, he says city officials could restore the water soon, as he and his lawyers continue to try to work things out.
