About 500 power outages remain in Valley after weekend storms
Four days after Saturday’s windstorms knocked out power to thousands in the Mahoning and Shenango Valleys, FirstEnergy continued working to restore electricity to more than 1,000 of its customers.
As of 8:45 p.m. Wednesday, the number is down to 581 across our four local counties.
Trumbull County has more than half of the remaining outages with 341 remaining. Most of those outages are in Vernon Township (155) and Kinsman Township (81). Power is expected to be restored by 8:30 p.m. Thursday for those areas.
There are 112 outages still lingering in Mercer County. The latest restoration time for the affected areas is Friday at 12 a.m.
Columbiana County has 69 outages with 52 of them affecting Salem Township residents. Thursday at 2 p.m. is the latest restoration time for the county.
FirstEnergy is reporting 53 outages in Mahoning County as of 8:45 p.m. Wednesday. The company expects power to be restored for all Mahoning County communities by 11:30 p.m. Wednesday.
