The mother of a 12-year-old girl reported missing out of Allegheny County is being held in the Mahoning County Jail.

Aylee Hammonds, 12, was last seen on March 30 in Penn Hills, according to our NBC affiliate WPXI. She was later found unharmed Saturday night in Newport, Ohio.

The girl's mother, Desmonique Hammonds, was arrested by authorities in Youngstown Saturday night and was brought to the Mahoning County Jail by FBI agents on Sunday.

Aylee Hammonds was first reported missing around 7:36 a.m. Friday by her mother. Allegheny County Police said Hammonds did not provide them with many details.

WPXI reported that Aylee was last seen around 8 p.m. Thursday.

The Allegheny County Child Abduction Response Team was brought into the case shortly after.

According to the release from Allegheny County police, Hammonds fled from her home Saturday afternoon and led officers on a chase until they lost sight of her in Harmar Township, Pennsylvania.

Police say they want to question her about Aylee's disappearance, but she was uncooporative and fled officers who were questioning her.

According to police, no one has been charged with the girl's disappearance yet. Police are actively investigating the situation.
