A source tells 21 Sports Carl Pelini will be reinstated as head football coach and athletic director.

It was last Thursday when the school announced Pelini would not be renewed.

In 2022 the Cardinals were 6-7, winning two playoff games,  the best season under Pelini.  In his three seasons the Cardinals are 9-22.

The school is expected to release more later today.
