Ohio Governor Mike DeWine has announced an education program to help Columbiana County students affected by the East Palestine train derailment.

DeWine announced the Learning Aid Ohio program is reserving dedicated slots for children in Columbiana County who have been impacted by the derailment.

The program provides in-home support services for students with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) to supplement the services they receive in school.

Learning Aid Ohio also helps families with financial resources to cover the costs of certain in-home support services like tutoring, occupational therapy or physical therapy to help students catch up academically.
