McNally introduces legislation authorizing creation of affordable housing tax credit
State Representative, Lauren McNally has introduced legislation authorizing the creation of an affordable housing tax credit to spur development of modern housing units around Ohio.
During her sponsor testimony for House Bill 3 (HB3), Rep. McNally stated that in order for Ohio's workforce to thrive, people need to come here and stay here, which requires modern, accessible and affordable housing.
"Housing is critical to building a healthy and prosperous future for Ohioans. HB3 will help make that future possible,” McNally said.
The bill is joint sponsored with Representative, Gail Pavliga and is a priority for both parties in the Ohio House of Representatives.
Language of the bill is currently being finalized to resolve implementation issues raised during previous hearings when the bill was known as HB560.
Once finalized, the language will include an annual allocation total and the number of years of program eligibility.
