Warren man again accused of trying to spend counterfeit money
A Warren man has been arrested for the second time in six months allegedly trying to pass counterfeit bills.
Joshua Vigorito, 36, has been booked into the Trumbull County Jail on charges of counterfeiting and theft.
Police believe it was Vigorito who tried to spend $22 in phony bills at the Shell gas station on Vienna Avenue in Niles on January 18.
The clerk told police he immediately recognized the bills as counterfeit and the man trying to pass them ran out of the store.
Although the suspect was wearing a mask, the employee managed to get his license plate number as he drove away.
Police filed charges against Vigorito earlier this month.
Vigorito already faces two counts of counterfeiting in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court for allegedly using fake $20 bills to make purchases at three fast food restaurants in Hubbard this past September.
