The first half of real estate taxes deadline isn't until March 10 in Mahoning County, but some people who live in Poland looking to pay in advance, were shocked to see their properties listed as delinquent.

A Poland resident--who did not want to be identified--discovered the status of her property tax payment on last years taxes listed as unpaid on the Mahoning's treasurers website, even though she paid them.

21 News reporter Leslie Huff checked with Mahoning County Treasurer, Daniel Yemma to see if others were having issues. Yemma told 21 News, the website does not have updated payment history information for homeowners.

For homeowners who made payments on time, Yemma says the internal system at the treasurer's office has the accurate payment information.

"The website will show the amount as still being due. [But] it is not due. Our internal software reflects the correct information," Yemma said.

According to the treasurer, he was made aware of the electronic error last week and has appointed the IT department to collaborate with affiliated IT departments to rectify the issue.

Despite the office's internal system having correct information on property tax payers history on, Yemma encourages people to call his office to confirm and verify payments until the online issue is resolved.

Update: According to Yemma, the website has been fixed and updated.
