An Ellwood City woman hid in a bedroom calling 9-1-1 while a man shot her sister and her mother inside their First Street home, according to police.

Officers had surrounded an apartment on the 200 block of First Street Monday evening when they say they heard 4 or five gunshots.

Following police orders to come out, officers say 23-year-old Keegan Willis-King was carrying a gun and was covered in blood when he surrendered.

Investigators say Willis-King had shot his 24-year-old girlfriend and her 42-year-old mother who died from her wounds.

The suspect's girlfriend was taken to Mercy Hospital in Youngstown where she is in critical condition with a head wound.

The mother’s other daughter, who is 22-years-old, escaped harm, telling police she had hidden in a back bedroom and called 9-1-1.

Willis-King, who was arraigned Tuesday on charges of criminal homicide and attempted criminal homicide, remains jailed without bond.

He faces another court hearing on February 8.
