Neshannock Police are have filed charges for the suspect in a bomb threat made to Neshannock High School on Wednesday.

According to a news release from Neshannock Police, the Lawrence County 911 center received a phone call shortly before 9:00 Wednesday night from a male claiming to have placed a bomb in the school.

The suspect was later identified as 32-year-old Benjamin Bechtol of Neshannock. Police say Bechtol was last known to be somewhere in California, which is where he allegedly made the threat.

As a safety precaution all schools were searched with assistance from the Lawrence County Sheriff's Department's bomb K9 and three bomb K9s from Pittsburgh and schools conducted remote learning on Thursday.

Police say nothing was found in any of the schools.

Bechtol is facing charges including one count of weapons of mass destruction and one count of making terroristic threats. Warrants have been issued for his arrest.
