Bissell has issued a recall on some of its cordless multi-surface wet dry vacuums due to a potential burning hazard.

Recalled models include model numbers 2551, 2551W and 25519. According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the circuit board inside these vacuum's battery packs can overheat and smoke posing a fire hazard.

Currently, Bissell has received a total of 66 reports of vacuums smoking and emitting a burning odor, as well as five reports of the battery pack catching on fire resulting in minor property damage and one injury.

These products were sold at Walmart stores across the country both in store and online, as well as other online retailers such as Amazon, QVC, Costco, Finger Hunt, Ace Hardware, Kohl's and Wayfair between January 2019 and November of 2022 for about $360 apiece.

Anyone who has purchased a recalled product should stop using it immediately and contact Bissell for a free battery pack replacement.

You can either take the product to a local Bissell authorized service center for the replacement or schedule a free at-home repair visit from an authorized Bissell service technician to replace the battery pack.
