Former Harding coach sentenced for involvement with student

A former Warren City Schools athletic coach has started serving a jail term handed down for an inappropriate relationship with a student.
Talayshah Harris, 23, of Warren appeared in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court on Wednesday where Judge Sean O’Brien sentenced her to a year in jail.
Harris was first arrested last spring after authorities say she became involved witha 15-year-old girl at Harding High School, described by Superintendent Steven Chiaro as a student-athlete.
Chiaro told 21 news earlier that Harris worked for the schools on a supplemental athletic coaching contract and was not a current employee at the time she was first charged.
The Trumbull County Grand Jury handed up a fourteen count indictment against Harris last June, charging her with multiple counts of sexual battery and unlawful sexual conduct with a minor.
In November, Harris pleaded guilty to seven counts of sexual battery.
In addition to the sentence, Harris has been declared as a sex offender.
