Campbell Police Chief selected to fill seat of 5th Ward Councilman
City of Campbell Police Chief, Patrick Kelly has been selected to fill the seat of Councilman for Youngstown's 5th Ward.
The seat was left vacant after former 5th Ward Councilwoman, Lauren McNally was elected as a State Representative for Ohio's 59th District.
Kelly was sworn in as Chief of Police in the City of Campbell in 2019. Prior to serving as Campbell's Chief, Kelly worked as the Commander for the Community Police Unit, a Detective Sergeant in the Detective Division, a commander of the Street Crime Unit and worked with U.S. Marshals.
Kelly was the recipient of multiple awards from U.S. Marshals and the Ohio Attorney General, and also was selected as "Top Cop" for his work with Youngstown's Street Crime Unit.
Later this morning, the committee will vote to select the new Mahoning County Prosecutor to fill the seat of former County Prosecutor, Paul Gains.
The race is currently between current Interim County Prosecutor, Gina DeGenova and Brad Gessner.
