Campbell man accused of assaulting woman at Hollywood Gaming
A Campbell man is behind bars after allegedly attempting to steal a woman's wallet, then assaulting her.
Marvin Turner, 47, approached Tawana Price, also 47, at Hollywood Gaming in Austintown Dec. 31.
After talking briefly, Turner tried to take Price's wallet from her pocket. When Price moved to get away from him, he punched her in the side of the head.
He punched her twice more, attempted to steal her wallet again, then proceeded to stomp on her and kick her in the head, according to the police report.
A witness said he heard the commotion, and turned to find Price on the ground while Turner punched and kicked her before fleeing in a white SUV.
Officers located Turner and conducted a traffic stop, discovering Turner's Ohio driver's license was suspended and he had marijuana in his vehicle.
Turner is facing charges of violating a protection order, felonious assault, and attempted robbery. He was also cited for Driving Under Suspension.
Price was taken to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Austintown for treatment.
