A Newton Falls man faces a host of charges after Warren police say they found thousands of dollars worth of suspected stolen power tools stashed in a basement.

A woman called police on Sunday saying that 43-year-old Jerry Lough was kicking the door of her Freeman Street home where he allegedly kept tools.

An officer drove to the home, saying that Lough could be seen running away. After following Lough in the police cruiser, the officer continued the pursuit on foot over the railroad tracks.

Lough finally surrendered on Forest Street and was taken to the county jail.

According to the police report, a basement search turned up allegedly stolen tools, including ten saws, three drills, two routers, two sanders, three toolboxes, two lights, a grinder, a tool belt, a socket set, air compressor, and a trailer with a diesel fuel tank.

All told, police estimate the value of the tools at more than $6,300.

The report lists the victim as Dorian Capitol Investments, 310 Dana Ave. Ne.

Lough is charged with burglary, theft, receiving stolen property, trespassing, obstructing official business, and resisting arrest.
