The former Huntington Bank building at 23 Federal Plaza has new owners, sold to 22 Market, LLC of New York City.
The paperwork was finalized this week allowing for renovation to begin on the more than 151,667 square-feet 13-story building that was built in 1910 as the Mahoning National Bank building. The building will be converted into commercial space on the first four floors and residential apartments starting on the fifth floor and above. There will be a total of 71 apartments that will be designed in a range from students through high-end apartments.
Work is expected to begin on the project in the first quarter of 2023, and is expected to be completed by early to mid-2024, according to the architect for the project, Annisa Neider of Canfield.
Neisser said that the apartments would be the first area of the building to be renovated.

The building was put up for sale in August 2021 and was under contract within seven months, according to Platz Realty Group agents Adam Divelbiss and Bill Cutlick who sold the building.
