Police say one of two people hospitalized has died following a violent crash on Youngstown's West Side.
Traffic investigators and fire rescue called to Mahoning and Matta Avenues at the CVS pharmacy Thursday night found at least one person trapped in a Cadillac.
Police say the car struck a pole and was split in half with half of the car in the CVS pharmacy parking lot and the other half near West Side Merchants almost a block away.
A man and a woman, both 22-years-old, were taken to a hospital with serious injuries. Police have not said which of the victims died, adding that the Mahoning County Coroner will release their names later.
Debris from the crash damaged West Side Merchants which remained closed on Friday.
