Two people were killed in a crash on the Interstate 76 portion of the Ohio Turnpike near Interstate 80 in Jackson Township Tuesday afternoon.

The crash happened around 2:05 p.m. in the westbound lanes of I-76.

According to the release, a Toyota Tacoma had been driving eastbound before it went off the left side of the road, through a grass median and hit a concrete barrier before spinning out into the westbound lanes.

A Toyota Rav4 was heading westbound and struck the Tacoma.

The driver of the Rav4 suffered minor injuries and was taken to the hospital.

The driver of the Tacoma, 68-year-old Jeffrey Horn of Delaware, was taken to the hospital where he later died from his injuries.

Paula Horn, also 68 and from Delaware, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
