Bazetta police have person of interest in Walmart parking lot shooting
The Bazetta Township Police Department has released new information on two shootings that happened in the area.
The first shooting happened on North Park Avenue where 53-year-old Michael Nigrin was found dead after several shots were fired.
Police say they're conducting interviews and investigating all leads and information sent in by community members. Officers are also waiting for results of evidence to come back from testing along with information from other partner sources.
A second shooting happened in the Walmart parking lot on Millenium Boulevard. No one was hit in that shooting.
Police are waiting on the results of evidence testing connected to the Walmart shooting. The department has a person of interest in the investigation and charges are expected to be filed against them soon.
Bazetta police also urge caution in light of shootings involving online purchases. They have a safe exchange zone set up at the township building that is monitored by 24-hour surveillance cameras.
If anyone has information about either shooting, call police at 330-638-5503 and ask to speak to Detective Swiger.
