Columbiana Co. sheriff identifies homicide victim found Monday
The Columbiana Co. Sheriffs Department and Ohio BCI updated the investigation into a homicide at state Route 45 near state Route 11 southbound after a body was discovered at 6:27 am. Monday.
According to Columbiana County Sheriff Brian McClaughlin, the homicide victim has been identified as Christina Atkinson, a 28-year-old from Lorain, Ohio.
Her body was spotted along State Route 45, just south of State Route 30 on Monday, November 28.
Deputies located a deceased black female. The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigations Crime Scene Unit assisted in processing the scene. The Columbiana County Prosecutor’s Office and its investigators are also assisting in the investigation.
A person driving by the gravel parking area spotted the body Monday morning after 6 am and notified the authorities.
