An event was held Thursday at Mr. Anthony's to raise funds for cancer patients across the Mahoning Valley.

The Silver Lining Cancer Fund held the "Ladies' & Gentlemen's Night Out" event Thursday evening at Mr. Anthony's celebrating over 47 years of helping those battling cancer in the Valley.

The Silver Lining Cancer Fund is comprised of healthcare workers and volunteers who work to help cancer patients financially and lightens some of the burden while the fight the disease helping with things such as groceries and gasoline.

"For someone who is struggling with a loved one going through cancer treatment who is having difficulty paying the bills, the Silver Lining Cancer Fund provides support and finances to help them have a better quality of life while they're going through a hard time," said Audrey Pass, daughter of Silver Lining Cancer Fund founder, Dr. Lawrence Pass.

Any resident of Mahoning, Trumbull or Columbiana County receiving active treatment for cancer with a financial need is eligible for assistance.
