The Gel Blaster SURGE Model 1.0 toy gun was recalled Thursday due to a fire hazard.

Thirty reports received by Gel Blaster have detailed smoking or fire near the handle of the gun, which is where the lithium-ion battery is stored. The battery pack can overheat and ignite. No injuries have been reported.

The toy is white with a gray handle and orange detailing. The on/off switch is black and located at the back of the gun.

Thousands of these toy guns were sold in stores nationwide and online through various websites from August 2020 through October 2021.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission urges all consumers to stop using the toy immediately. Consumers can contact Gel Blaster and receive a prepaid mailer that will allow them to return the product for a full refund.

Gel Blaster's toll-free number is 844-435-5387, and available for calls between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. CT, Monday through Friday. Consumers can also send the company an email at [email protected] or visit their website and click on "Safety Recall."
