Ohio Turnpike to conduct snowplow, equipment inspections in preparation for winter

The Ohio Turnpike is preparing for winter weather with a 136-point inspection of all snow plows and equipment at all eight of its maintenance buildings across the state.
This year, over 100 snow plows will be available to maintain the 1,395 lane miles, 31 toll plaza interchanges and 14 service plazas along the Ohio Turnpike.
The maintenance checklist includes an inspection of all engine parts, plowing equipment, tires, lights and other components, as well as a test calibration of the salt and liquid de-icing systems.
The Canfield Maintenance Building will be conducting inspections from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 18.
In addition, the Turnpike's second annual Name-a-Snowplow contest is set to return in the coming weeks. Stay tuned to 21 News for more details on the contest when they're available.
