Target has issued a recall of tea kettles sold at stores nationwide, as well as on their website due to a potential burning and fire hazard.

The recalled product is called Hearth & Hand with Magnolia Tea Kettles. The reason for the recall is that paint can chip on the bottom of the kettle, which poses a fire hazard.

In addition, the handle can break and the spout can leak, which in turn could result in burn-related injuries.

At this time, Target has received a total of 27 reports of incidents involving kettles leaking, wobbling or moving on the stovetop while in use, the handle grip breaking off and the paint chipping or melting on the bottom of the kettle.

These products were sold in Target stores nationwide, as well as on Target's website between July and October of 2021 for about $35.

The item number for the recalled product is 324-03-7894. This number can be found printed on the kettle's hang tag.

Anyone who has purchased the recalled product is advised to stop using it and return it to any Target store for a full refund or contact Target to receive a pre-paid return label to return it by mail.
