Annual Nun Run proceeds to support children
The 8th Annual Nun Run hosted by the Ursuline Sisters Mission consists of a 5K, 1-mile walk and kids' run.
Participants can choose to run in person Saturday, October 1 or virtually.
The in-person races will be held Saturday at the Ursuline Center located at 4280 Shields Road. The kids' fun run will kick off at 8:15 a.m., the 1-mile walk will begin at 8:30 a.m. and the 5K will follow at 9 a.m.
The virtual race can be completed between Saturday, October 1 and Saturday, October 15.
Registration will cost $35 on race day and begin at 7:30 a.m. There is no fee for the kids' run. Those who register on race day will not be guaranteed a T-shirt. To be guaranteed a T-shirt, participants needed to register by September 16.
All proceeds will benefit children "served by the Ursuline Sisters HIV/AIDS Ministry, Beatitude House and the Ursuline Preschool & Kindergarten," according to the event's press release.
Awards will be given out to the top three male and female finishers, and a cash award will be given to anyone who sets a new record on the 5K course.
The event has brought back "Run for a Nun," so participants can run in honor of an Ursuline Sister.
