Virtual Racial Equity and Inclusion workshop to be held for community stakeholders
The Raymond John Wean Foundation is is holding a virtual racial equity and inclusion workshop in October and November.
The foundation is inviting community stakeholders to join their two-day virtual training on October 12 and 13, or November 16 and 17. The training is hosted by the ThirdSpace Action Lab and presented by the Racial Equity Institute (REI.)
The REI workshop aims to develop the capacity of participants to better understand racism in its institutional and structural forms. It also aims to move away from a focus on personal bigotry and bias, as well as providing a historical, cultural and structural analysis of racism.
The REI workshop aims to have attendants leave with a better understanding of how to invoke change.
The Wean Foundation has been providing the Valley with these workshops since 2017, and nearly 700 community stakeholders representing over 220 diverse organizations have participated in these workshops.
