Newton Falls man ordered to pay $5,000 after pit bull kills another dog

The owner of a pit bull who attacked other dogs in Newton Falls, killing one of them has been sentenced.
William Dempsey, 42, was fined $150 and ordered to pay $5,000 restitution to a woman whose dog was attacked and killed by Dempsey's Pit Bull this past spring.
Dempsey, who pleaded no contest to a charge of having dogs at large, was found guilty by a judge in Newton Falls Court.
Admitting earlier that he didn't trust his dog around his children, Dempsey also had to show proof to the court that his dog had been euthanized.
