Suspect in downtown Youngstown murder has bond set at $750K

The suspect in the killing of 32-year-old Yarnell Green Jr. pled not guilty during his preliminary hearing in Youngstown Municipal Court Wednesday.

The prosecutor sought bail of $1 million, while the defense attorney asked for reduced bail, and bail was set at $750,000.
Serrano's attorney claimed the shooting was self-defense.
Serrano has been charged with felony murder of Green downtown Youngstown on Sunday.
Police say they heard gunshots around 1:40 a.m. Sunday morning near Federal and Hazel Street. Officers saw a large crowd of people fleeing the area, and then saw Green laying on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds. Green was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The next preliminary hearing date has not yet been set.
