Youngstown Police officer, victim of theft, tracks down suspect

Some valuables stolen from unlocked vehicles in a Boardman neighborhood have been recovered and one person is under arrest.
Police say 27-year-old Anthony Williams was found with drivers licenses and other items reported stolen from several vehicles along Lynn Mar Avenue in Boardman on August 7.
One of the victims is a Youngstown Police officer who began his own investigation after learning that someone named Anthony Williams had tried to make a $500 purchase using a debit card taken from his truck.
Accompanied by someone from the probation office, the officer spoke to Williams and found two driver's licenses taken during the car thefts. Williams claims he got the goods from someone else.
Claiming he was having a panic attack during the jail booking process, Williams was taken to a hospital by ambulance, and left as soon as he arrived, according to police.
Williams was arrested by police in Cuyahoga Falls this week and taken to the Mahoning County jail in shackles.
Williams is charged with receiving stolen property.
