Parents, grandma arrested after caged toddler found at Ohio home
Three people are under arrest after authorities say they found one toddler in a cage and another toddler holding a meth pipe at a Logan, Ohio home southeast of Columbus
The Hocking County Sheriff’s Office has charged 61-year-old grandmother Ella Webb, as well as parents, 38-year-old Franklin “TJ” Varney and 25-year-old Megan Smith with child endangering.
Deputies investigating an alleged sexual assault say when they entered the Bears Run Road home on Sunday, they found deplorable conditions and a three-year-old child locked in a cage secured with zip ties.
The cage was filled with bugs, soiled bedding, and a cup full of spoiled milk, according to deputies.
A two-year-old was also found walking around the residence holding a methamphetamine pipe.
The parents of the infants fled the residence leaving the children behind. The two were captured the following day.
The two children are now in foster care.
