Three drug suspects accused of leading police on a sometimes 100 mph chase from Campbell to Youngstown’s Brownlee Woods spent part of the weekend in jail held on a $150,000 bond.

Campbell Police began chasing a car with an obscured license plate Saturday afternoon at Courtland Avenue and Gladstone Street.

Police say the car sped away traveling along Wilson Avenue through Youngstown’s East Side to Interstate 680 where the pursuit reached speeds of 100 miles per hour, according to police.

The pursuing officer reported that people in the car threw items out of the window at several locations during the chase.

Exiting 680 at Midlothian Boulevard, police say the car traveled into the Brownlee Woods neighborhood, eventually pulling into a driveway on the 2000 block of Weston Avenue.

Police say they found methamphetamine, pipes, marijuana, and syringes in the car, as well as bags of methamphetamine, a bag of marijuana, and a syringe at three locations along the chase route.

The three suspects are identified as 24-year-old Guinevere Jaffe of Youngstown, 25-year-old Gerontios Ginnis of Campbell, and 26-year-old Ryan Morris.

According to the police report, when the three suspects were being checked out by an ambulance crew at the police station, all three were laughing and joking with paramedics and continually remarking about how they almost got away.

All three are charged with drug trafficking, possessing drug paraphernalia, and tampering with evidence.

Morris is also charged with failure to comply with a police order, driving under suspension, and fictitious license plates.

Ginnis is also charged with criminal damaging and operating a vehicle without a license.

All three are scheduled to answer the charges in Campbell Municipal Court on Tuesday.
